Three Hurricane Ike plays in September
"The Great Storm," "Cleanin' Out My Closet," and "Vertex" will be performed in September in Houston, as part of a series of plays about Hurricane Ike. The other seven plays are written by Eric James, Leighza Walker, and Peter Wittenberg, Jr.

"The Great Storm" at the 2010 10x10
"The Great Storm" will receive its first full production at the 2010 10x10 Short Play Festival at Country Playhouse in Houston, TX. The 10x10 is Houston's largest annual short play festival.

"Family Portrait" in Houston
Leighza Walker directed a production of "Family Portrait" at Scriptwriter's Houston's Museum Plays at the Houston Museum of Printing History, April 16-17 and 23-24, 2010. Watch the closing night's performance on youtube.

Premiere of "The Great Storm"
Aaron was one of about a dozen Houston-area playwrights asked to write a new short play about Hurricane Ike. The final ten plays will be premiered at a reading at the Island Etc. at the Strand Theatre, helping to commemorate the one year anniversary of Ike and raise money for the storm-damaged theatre. The readings will take place on September 26, 2009, at 2PM.

The 2009 10x10
Aaron's play, "Family Portrait" was one of ten selected winners of the 19th annual 10x10, Houston's biggest short play festival. The ten plays were performed August 14-16 at Country Playhouse. Aaron's play took second place in the Judges' Choice Awards.

2009 Readers' Theatre
Aaron's Play, "Family Portrait," was selected as the winner (audience choice) of the 2009 Readers' Theatre following a reading at Theatre Southwest in Houston, Texas.

Aaron Alon is an internationally-performed contemporary classical composer and college music instructor, who has recently begun to pursue his second lifelong dream of being a writer. His plays have been read, performed, and awarded prizes in New York, Houston, and Galveston.
