Art Song Forward in Brooklyn, NY

World premiere of "Everest"
On December 4th, "Everest" received its world premiere by Rice University's Shepherd School of Music Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Cristian Macelaru. The concert was also broadcast on Sunday, 6 December, at 7PM CST with a pre-recorded interview.

Andrea Ceccomori will perform "Hibakusha" as the 20th annual Festival Forfest in the Czech Republic.

"Hibakusha" to be performed in Australia
Catherine Branch will give "Hibakusha" its Australian premiere, when she performs the piece as part of a concert at the Burrinja Cultural Center in Melbourne. She will also perform the piece at the Sydney Conservatory on June 26th.

Catherine Branch gave an interview about her upcoming Melbourne concerts on a Melbourne classical radio station. The concerts include performances of "Hibakusha," which was also played on air.

"Hibakusha" to be given its European premiere in Rome
Later this year, Andrea Ceccomori will give "Hibakusha" its European premiere. This concert will inaugurate the new "Linea Bianca" artistic format in Rome, where music, art, drama, and other disciplines are mixed.

Aaron's art song, "All Rights Reserved," was named the first place winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs' Emil & Ruth Beyer Composition Award.

Cooper Prize for Orchestral Composition
Aaron's orchestra piece, "Everest," won the Paul and Christiane Cooper Prize for Orchestral Composition from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. The piece will be performed by the Shepherd School Orchestra on an upcoming subscription series concert.

Aaron Alon earns his doctorate from Rice University
On May 9th, Aaron earned his DMA in composition from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. His dissertation, an orchestra piece titled "Everest," will be performed by the Shepherd School Orchestra in an upcoming season.
