Webster Trio Japan
On March 11th, acclaimed flutist, Leone Buyse, will perform Aaron's Hibakusha at Japan's famous Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.

Doctoral Recital
Aaron's Doctoral Degree Recital was held on April 14, 2008, Rice University's Shepherd School of Music.  The recital highlighted music written since 2005 and included two premieres!

New Musical
Aaron's new musical, The Nightingale and the Rose (book & lyrics by Joe Barnes) received a black box premiere at the University of Houston on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

Aaron's setting of Wilfred Owen's famous anti-war poem, "Dulce et Decorum Est," was premiered at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music on November 3, 2007.

Aaron's Fairy Tales, which was commissioned for the thirtieth annual Renée B. Fisher Piano Competition, was premiered at the awards ceremony on May 12, 2007 by young pianist Alexander Beyer.

Andrea Trusty, Andrew Dunn, and Kyle Evans performed Aaron's Spring and Fall on the Shepherd School's first FUSION event, which brought together contemporary art, music, and fusion cuisine.

Noted San Francisco new music group, Sounds New, performed Aaron's Hibakusha for solo flute on their February 11th and February 16th concerts.

Aaron's oboe solo, Córdoba, was performed by Ian Davidson at the 5th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Arts & Humanities.

SCI National Conference
Aaron's flute solo, Hibakusha, was performed at the closing concert of the Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

International Performances
Aaron received his first international performance, when Ian Davidson performed Córdoba in Bratislava, Slovakia on May 23, 2006.  Dr. Davidson also performed the piece in Brazil (August 16, 2006) and Hong Kong (March 9, 2007).

Musicology Contest
Aaron's paper, "Tant Que Vivray: A Comparative Analysis of Three Mid-Sixteenth Century Intabulations of a Popular Chanson" was selected by Mu Phi Epsilon as a winner of  their 2008 Musicological Research Contest Award.

New Music Days in Sweden
Aaron's Dulce et Decorum Est was selected as a winner of the 2008 Texas Composers Competition.  It will represent the state of Texas in the 2009 World New Music Days in Sweden.

Aaron has been awarded two grants: one toward the recording/premiere of his Dulce et Decorum Est, and one toward the creation of a home audio studio.

Aaron was selected for inclusion in ACME, a list of Mu Phi Epsilon members who are "widely known and acclaimed in their field of musical endeavor."

Aaron's ballet, Peter Pan Suite, and his solo oboe piece, Córdoba, were both winners in the postgraduate division of the 2005 Mu Phi Epsilon Composition Contest.

Aaron's ballet, Peter Pan Suite, was awarded second place in the 2005 Emil and Ruth Beyer Composition Awards from the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Fisher Competition
Aaron's solo piano work, Fantasia for Piano, is a winner of the 2007 Renée B. Fisher Composer Awards.  Aaron has been commissioned to write a new piece for the 2007 Fisher Competition for Young Pianists.

Aaron's string trio, Spell, was awarded first prize in the 2004 National Association of Composers (NACUSA) Young Composers Competition.
