International Premiere & CD
Acclaimed flutist Leone Buyse gave Hibakusha its international premiere on March 11th at Japan's premier venue, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. The piece has also recently been released on CD from Capstone Records in a new recording with Catherine Branch, who has performed it in the US as well as in Australia and will now bring the work to the Kennedy Center and Rochester, NY in 2010.

Listen now to the December 4, 2009 world premiere of Aaron's new work for orchestra, Everest, with Cristian Macelaru conducting the Rice University Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra. Earlier this year, this work was awarded Rice University's Cooper Prize in Orchestral Composition. The concert was broadcast on KTRU with this interview.

Aaron's Dulce Et Decorum Est was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2009 ASCAP/Lotte Lehmann Foundation Art Song Competition (press release) and was named a a regional winner of the 2009 SCI/ASCAP Student Composition Commission Contest. His All Rights Reserved also took first prize in the 2009 Emil & Ruth Beyer Prize from the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Aaron Alon's music has been performed around the world, by such acclaimed musicians as Leone Buyse, Ian Davidson, Sounds New, and the Vientos Trio. His works have been included on three labels, including a recent release from Capstone Records, and have received numerous national and international composition honors.

"Spring and Fall" will be performed on the 9th annual New Music Festival at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

20 February 2010: Delaware, OH
Nancy Gamso will perform "Hibakusha" as part of the 2010 OWU/NOW, Ohio Wesleyan University's annual new music festival.

11 March 2010: Brooklyn, NY
"Dulce Et Decorum Est" (arranged for piano and voice) will be performed on a concert presented by the Lotte Lehmann Foundation and Beth Morrison Projects at the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn.

Spring 2010: Rochester, NY
Catherine Branch will perform "Hibakusha" as part of a concert celebrating the UN International Day of Persons With Disabilities.

8 June 2010: Washington, DC
Catherine Branch will perform "Hibakusha" at the 2010 International Disabilities Arts Festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
